Minnesota Redistricting Project: The Center for the Study of Politics and Governance carries out its Minnesota Redistricting project with the generous support of the Joyce Foundation and guided by its Advisory Board chaired by Vice President Walter Mondale and former Governor Arne Carlson. The project uses research, media coverage, briefings for lawmakers and non-profit and public interest organizations, and formulation of legislative proposals to place the reform of redistricting on the public and governmental agendas and to contribute to build support for enacting a non-partisan redistricting process that works and increases electoral competition in Minnesota. The Center's Minnesota Redistricting project provides non-partisan information and analysis of Minnesotan elections, the competitiveness of legislative races, and the consequences of weak competition as well as public education and engagement that helps to place redistricting reform on the agendas of the public and policy makers. The goal of the project is to generate serious legislative consideration of redistricting reform that ultimately results in an increase in electoral competition and contributes to improving citizen confidence in the power of their vote. For more information on Redistricting, contact Jennifer Thompson, Coordinator, 612.625.5340 or by email: thom0572@umn.edu. The Minnesota Redistricting Project is made possible in part by the generous support of The Joyce Foundation.
